begin to unfold as young people equip themselves for the future in learning how to do useful things — both for themselves and others — in the classrooms at Oklahoma State Tech, branch of O.S.U. The school is dedicated to the ideal that men and women should be educated to make a good living. Important is the need for worthwhile persons to have added opportunity to build a good and secure future along with a happy and rewarding life. Many consicer Tech, the state’s youngest school, a school of tomorrow in operation today. It is a school for every man and woman who seeks a broader range of opportunities for success. A school of tailor-made instruction adapted to the needs of the individual and industries, where tradition ‘has been abandoned for practicability. Only those courses are offered for fields in which a graduate can find successful employment. In this extraordinary school, the method of instruction is “modern”. Live work and production are essential to basic training in skills. Students make practical ap- plication of their study in shops patterned after those in industry. In two years or less future technicians and craftsmen find they have mastered the more intricate skills of their chosen field. Handicapped persons can learn to be self-sufficient. Beginning either in the Rehabilitation Center, one of the finest in the nation, where dependency is turned into independency, or by enrolling directly in one of many courses which are adaptable to physical handi- caps, those with handicaps again find purpose and direction in life. Tech students may progress as rapidly as their experi- ence and ability allow. Length of courses varies be- tween one and two years, with specialization offered in some fields beyond that length. Graduates find many exciting opportunities open to them in large cities as well as small communities; large industries or small businesses. The success of nearly 6,000 graduates proves the value of this concept of education. Whatever their personal goal, broadened horizons in living faith and achievement are a common bond be- tween students and dedicated instructors and adminis- trators at Oklahoma State Tech.

Where we are today has been accomplished in so short a time in comparison with the span of time since the beginning of civilization. Men seeking to know, to learn and to do have brought us to this point. The future spreads out in a shining panorama. With education, and parti- cularly that of which there is so desperate a need to insure future advancement — technology — the op- portunities are unlimited. It is men and women with skills such as those taught at Oklahoma State Tech who can make the dreams of enriched lives, greater comfort and even reaching the stars become reality.
