HE size of Oklahoma State Tech in com- parison with the Nation and the world is indeed small. Yet the reputation of this unique technical training school has spread to all corners of the United States and the world. Evidence of this fact is in the enrollment of students from virtually every state and nu- merous foreign countries including Denmark, Iran, Iraq, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Pakistan, Venezuela, Arabia and Turkey. And the recognition of the school will spread further as these graduates - as well as the many visitors from other countries and our great nation tour the campus and - return to their homes, im- pressed by the concept and philosopy of the basic ideals of education exemplified at Tech. Each succeeding class brings students from more and more communities from other states. Future technicians, seeking a better way of living, have found their way to Tech from the extreme borders of the United States. The greatest concen- tration of out-of-state students comes from the Southwest. Tech is in the heart of this area en- riched with opportunities. These students from far-away points and nearby, come to glean the knowledge and know- how from the storehouse represented by the many instructors in a variety of fields. Here aptitudes are cultivated, nourished, and strengthened in courses keyed to the needs of both today and to- morrow. A bond of friendship and good fellowship exists among students with varied backgrounds, pleasure is derived from sharing and learning from one another. Foreign students especially find dynamic proof of democratic living in this school where men and women of all ages and backgrounds are fused together in the common search for knowledge, skills and necessary perspective in these times in making a better life for themselves, their families, community, state, nation and world.

Okmulgee, the home away from home for almost l,5OO students at Oklahoma State Tech continues to provide the finest religious activities for students and families of students. Each and every Church has its share of partici- pating student groups and student families. Spring and summer days qause many to seek their favorite spot at Lake Okmulgee for picnics, fishing and boating. The sparkling blue of the numerous strip pits in the area cause many anglers to go early and late to try their skills. Special bowling privileges and good team members make bowling competition interesting to many of the Tech family. Bridge games and movies are not a minor part of the student life. Golf has an appeal for many. Winter in Okmulgee also brings its full share of relaxation from daily studies with hunting and wiener roasts. To take a map and drive up and down the many streets in this delightful town one could find that numerous students and families live in each of the neighborhoods. Many have worked for interested Okmulgeans to finance their school- ing. Okmulgee citizens continue to develop new plans to make their community a little bit more desirable for the Tech students of which they are so proud. Special emphasis is being given to the de- velopment of new ways to create more student employment by the Oklahoma Greater State Tech Committee so more students can earn part of their expenses while attending school. Okmulgee, a delightful community, has a heart and an industrial power which makes it ideal to be the home of one of the nation's finest technical schools and a two-year home for the worthwhile students.
