THE LADY IN THE HARBGR She stands upon a pedestal A welcome sight to see For all those seeking refuge In a land where they'll be free. Her torch is like a beacon And the light that it imparts Brings hope to weary spirits And a lift to heavy hearts. She's more than just a statue She's the symbol of the birth Cf a nation that we honor As the greatest one on earth. She's visited by multitudes Of folks who come to pay Homage to this lady Who stands in New York Bay. But like any senior citizen Who feels the toll of years She needs some restoration As her hundredth birthday nears! She'll have the best of surgeons And there isn't any doubt They'll refurbish and renew her And get all her wrinkles out!
