The DMZ in support of the Third Marine Division. SUPPORT MISSIONS A continuous vigilance is maintained aboard the ship in response to calls for gunfire missions from ashore. In support of Marines, Army, Air Force, and numerous Allies in South Vietnam our fighting lady has raked enemy positions from Vung Tau to the Demilitalized Zone. With more than 25,000 rounds of 5 and 6 inch am- munition expended, damage to enemy positions, supply routes, staging areas, and infiltration routes have played a significant role in the out- come of the war. Today we carry on the tradition of a job: HVVELL DONE . qs, Simultaneous bursts from both mounts at Vung Tau in support of the Australian Task Force.
