They also participated in a Homecoming project and made an admirable showing in intramural sports. p.. .fir aff' -'fag 'V Academic achievement in Alpha Chi Alpha Chi, OCC's chapter of the National Honor Society, continued to gain new members who were able to achieve the strict academic stan- dards. Inducted juniors had to have a minimum 3.5 g.p.a., while seniors needed a minimum 3.4 g.p.a. The in- stitution also emphasized character as well as academic excellence. Of- ficers attended an annual national convention. Dr. Bailey McBride sponsored the organization and also served on the National Committee. Alpha sponsors Keen-Age banquet Alpha Sigma Phi sponsored several banquets this year, in- cluding a Keen-Age banquet for older people. They also had a Grubb banquet at Ruben Rugby's and a formal banquet at the White Hall. Their service projects included visits to the nursing home, and a Halloween party for the children at Wilshire Church.
