I .,,, I . V r., Puppets debut in Shakespeare play In their second year at OCC, the Puppeteers participated in several shows and activities tlu-oughout the year. The Gong Show, where the puppets made their debut last year, included a puppet adaptation to the Wizard of Oz. Also, in the major spr- ing drama production, Shake- speare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, the Puppeteers, directed by Eddy Query, constructed and operated puppets for the parts of the Fairies. Art Guild travels to Tulsa museums Members of the Art Guild and Kappa Pi, National Art Society, sponsored a trip to the Philbrook and Gilcrease Art Museums in Tulsa. The Guild also helped spon- sor juried student art shows, and selections were made for inclusions in the 1978-79 Soundings. Members of the Guild assisted in hanging art shows, setting up displays, and act- ing as hosts and hostesses during Gala Week. These art students especially helped with displays and activities when artist Charles Banks Wilson came to the OCC campus in September. uw Q at uv. 76 Science clubs assist Sci and Med students The American Chemical Society, comprised of students with interest in chemistry, biology, math, com- puter science and physics, continued to program activities to aid students planning to enter professional fields. Dr. Roland Schultz sponsored the ACS again this year. Philiatros, a club for students planning to enter schools of medicine, dentistry, op- tomitry and other medical profes- sions, became established for its first year at OCC.
