100 E. G. CHERBONNIER received an honorary Doctor of Law degree during April gradua- tion. In Greek mythology Janus was a goddess with two faces, one looking forward and one looking back. Com- mencement for the college student has two faces-one looking back to the classes, the basketball games, the Spring Sings, the professors and classmates of the past while the other face looks forward to jobs, pro- fessional schools, families . . . life. This theme was touched on by speakers at all three graduations, Stanton L. Young, business and civic leader, Clifford M. Hardin, Vice-Chancellor of the Board at Ralston Purina, and Dr. William Banowsky, president of the Univer- sity of Oklahoma. It was a concept felt by the 302 graduates during 1978-79.
