We would like for you to think of our school life as being a sucessful trip. So we invite you to get your ticket and get aboard the 'Sunshine Streamer' as we very briefly review our past four years. One beautiful day four years ago, sixteen head of freshmen with their luggage boarded the streamliner. Some seemed rather frightened as they traveled over the hills and around the curves. Those aboard the train were Ray Blake, Rosie Boese, Gene Jantz, Donna Lohrenz, Wanda Lohrenz, Earlin Penner, Eugene Regier, Iviarlene Rudiger, Kenneth Schmidt, Paul Schultz, Ruth Schultz, Geraldine Unruh, and Maxine Unruh, For our conductor we chose Ardon Ratzlaff, his helpmate Melvin Voth, and the janitor, Carol Penner, but the one which made the trip a sucess was Rev. August Schmidt, our engineer. We spent the year in the pullman car because of fear to venture out. Even though we were lazy, we got a kick out of watching our engineer pull out the throttle, trying to help us make the grade. In the fall of '49, three of the original passengers stepped off. The re- maining thirteen which moved on to the diner car, were greeted by Willis Mouttet, Darling Dirkson, LeRoy Unruh, Donald Ratzlaff, Leo Becker, Mavis Becker, and Harold Koehn. We chose as our conductor, Willis Mouttet, his helper, Donna Lohrenz, and Nlelvin Voth as chief cook. The success of this trip is credited to Nfiss Hilda Regier, out engineer. Twelve of the twenty were found faithful on the coach car in the fall of '50, There was added one passenger, Harry Pankratz, whom we chose as our conductor. Harry being the bashful type could not proceed without a couple of helpers, so Kenneth Schmidt and Wanda Lohrenz were chosen. This year had two main high spots, the play 'Raggedy Nan' which was directed by our engineer, Rev. Jantzen, and the junior and senior banquet at the close of the year. By the time we had reached the Vista-Dome car in the fall of '51, we thought we were pretty good, or did we? This year four passengers left us and Vernon Heibert accompanied us. Paul Schultz now took the position as conductor, his partners, Harry Pankratz and Wanda Lohrenz. Our engineer, Rev. Gerbrandt welcomed us over for an evening of enjoyment which was appreciated by all. Along with this evening of fun and many other high lights of this year we can truly say that even though there have been troubles, trials and storms, above all we see the joys and sunshine which came to us. 6
