We strived for perfec- tion, but we knew before we lifted the cover of the first completed book that mistakes were inevitable. We ask that you consider the limitations of this age of shortages and rationing and be lenient in your judgment of us. We have endeavored to make this yearbook a pictorial record of the year at Oklahoma Baptist University. It has not been our intention to play a favorite, but rather we have attempted to give credit where credit was due, and we hope that in this all-important matter, we have suc- ceeded. If you find this a satisfying, amusing, reminescient record which is truly typical of your life at O. B. U. in the year 1944-45, then all our efforts, our Worries, our expended energies have been rewarded. On looking back, the problems which seemed so insurmountable and the difficulties which harrassed and annoyed us in the editing of this book recede into the background and become far less important than the memory of that spirit of cooperation and goodwill which the vast ma- jority of you have exhibited toward us. Unless you have experienced the tedious situations which we were constantly facing, you can never know how welcome and encouraging are people who perform their small tasks and assignments without questioning and with willingness. It is the vast majority, the average student, who makes a yearbook possible, and it is to you we give our sincerest thanks. THE EDITOR
