Student Government Has Power Student Government was engaged in several new attempts this year to raise money, as well as support from the school’s student body. Along with organizing the annual Homecoming festivities, which included court elections, parade and judging class wins, they organized a second annual PEPSI Skateboarding Instructional assembly and sponsored two multi-media films, “Champions” and “Heroes”, which highlighted songs from many of today’s Top 40 Rock-n-Roll Artists. The controversial Community Service Day returned to O.H.S. with many good reviews as well as student cooperation. Raising money for the school’s new Chieftain sign, the Student Government collected $600 for the fund, as well as a chance to hold another Community-Service Day in upcoming years. To continue a program which began last year, the Student Grievance Committee undertook the task of hearing students from all grades and backgrounds voice their opinions of conditions at O.H.S. This opportunity gave both the administration and faculty an insight on solutions to problems or difficulties at our school.
