With TELEVISION as the theme of this year’s Homecoming, the idea of “Performance” was easy to come by. Spirit Week once again captivated the school into disciplined and sometimes ‘organized’ class cooperation, claiming either Freshmen or Senior Class wins in participation. Although the Juniors took the float contest with ‘Big Bird’ from SESAME STREET, the week's overall winners were the Senior Class as they performed most easily and cheered loudest at Friday’s Pep Assembly. The parade past the Four Corners spotlighted the Chieftain Marching Band, as well as our newly elected Queen NINA MASSA, with King BOB FOSSUM absent at a school golf tournament. Homecoming Night displayed our champion team’s style as they easily defeated Eaton Rapids 50-14. As the following night’s dance ended the annual Homecoming activities, the O.H.S. Football Team maintained their outstanding “performance” as they went on to capture the League Championship undefeated.
