Hlllwj 'pil 6 ,'u's of lu 1 It is with great pleasure that the annual staff dedicates the 1972 Mustang to Mrs. Lucy Raupe in commemoration of her twenty-fifth year of teaching at Okay High School. when Mrs. Raupe began teaching at Okay. in l9h2, there were h9 students enrolled in high school. During the years she has remained at Okay, that number has grown to 120. Mrs. Raupe assumed her duties as senior sponsor in 19147-1483 and since that time, she has proudly watched 387 seniors walk down the aisle at com- mencement exercises to receive their diplomas. It is both interesting and awe-inspiring to imagine the influ- ence she has had on the lives of so many young people. Besides teaching and advising seniors, Mrs. Raupe has been school counselor, librarian, and coordinator of the school lunch program. She has directed school plays, supervised ad sales for the annual, sponsored the Mustang, and taught night school for adults. In short, there is little that she has not done when the need presented itself. It is this dedica- tion for which she will be remembered. Thomas Gilcrease once said when asked why he created the Gllcrease Institute, WA man must leave his tracks.H Through her unselfish devo- tion to the art of teaching, Mrs. Raupe has also left her tracks in perhaps the most lasting manner of all --in the hearts and minds of today's and tomorrow's men and women. Blessed is he who has found his work, let him ask no other blessedness. He has a work, a life purpose. --Carlyle
