Qunicr Glass The junior class officers elected for this year are Mike Conner, presidentg Chuck Abel, vice-president, Jerry Rawley, secretary-treas- urerg Tom Payne, sergeant-at-arms, and Carol Schmidt, program chair- man. Don Tarbert was chosen as class representative. Miriam Paup and Helen Profit were appointed by the high school principal, Mr. Critchlow, to be assistant treasurers to the student body treasurer. Two of Okanogan's cheerleaders,Joyce Somerville and Carol Schmidt are juniors. The most important event of the year is the Junior Prom. During the home football games the junior class, under the supervision of Teresa Ramsey, sold concessions to finance this annual event. The Prom will always stand out as the social event of the junior year. Juniors who attended the State Leadership Conference on the Uni- versity of Washington campus in Seattle were Miriam Paq: andTraoy Mhr- ray. Six students joined the junior class this year. They are Lois Hokanson, Margo Bennett, Judy Bauman, John Holt, Robert Morton, and Hubert Adams. Those turning out for football were Bob Colyar, Mike Conner, Don DeVon, Tom Payne, Bob McIntosh, Jerry Stout, Burt Swallom,and Don Tar- bert. Ten junior boys made up part of Okanogan's basketball team. They are Chuck Abel, Bob Colyar, Tracy Murray, Mike Dickson,John Holt, Mark Thompson, Jerald Bettes, David Newell, Tom Payne, and Burt Swallom. Junior girls in Pep Club this year were Elaine Mitchell, Nina Workman, Virginia Bigelow, Mary Baker,Nancy Goodyear, Miriam Paup, Iva Kvamme, and Judy Ransom. 25
