The prospect of getting into the new building seemed promising when the partitions came down ex- posing'a hallway now a city block long. Those things were im! portant, but most of all I like to remember- the leadership displayed by the cheer leaders at all our games and pep assem blies, the feeling of pride for our student council members at a Joint Omak Okanogan council meeting, the uneve say die spirit displayed by the Bu ldogs in the .Annistioe Day football game, the big pep rally, and in their enthusiasm, students taking time to give their teachers recognition at the bonfire, riding the rooters' bus to an out of town game, the way students and sud ienoe alike respond when our band starts playing, the original displays and decorations in the study hall, the very interesting papers published by the Growl staff, the oom unity's response to The Night of January l6th and many other similar experiences too numerous to mention Best of luck to this yearls senior class as they begin new responsibilities, and to the sophomores and juniors. I hope to see all of you back next year Remember, we have a new building Sincerely. xl? word, L Brunton 12 - , Y ll ll ,ll to break in. One of my fellow passengers was Miss Gail Dickson, famed cr1m1nal lawyer, who was flying to New York to act as the defence attorney for Rodgers Hamilton, treasurer of the Brotherhood of Sootless Ch1mney Sweeps. e was being sued by h1s union for swlndling union funds. Gail had received a letter from Mary Conner about the tr1als and Dame we got on the subgect of football and what a success Coach Winston McCulley had made of his 1974 football squad! He's at Notre Dame now too' We landed safely at Holeman Field, recently named for New York's filibuster1ng senator, Eugene Holeman. Was pleasantly surprised to see Joan Sawyer modeling a lovely cocktail dress for middle aged ladies, especzally designed by Cheloye Bartholme Had d1n ner with Shirley Schmidt, president of the Bouncing Baby Home, and Janet Tate, ski resort hostess at Sun Valley As we were leaving we met John Van Binsbergen at a corner ta ble, waiting for his chorus girl wife. NcCu1ley dumped in 13 counters to lead e Bulldogs to victory Holterman was close behind with 8.' Chronicle Came the second half and Okanogan went to rk with a vengeance. NeCulley dropped in several of his famed howitzers and a little baby faced guy named Hayden ran the team l1ke a Prussian general. In h1s spare time Hayden also hit a few baskets. 'Okanogan staged a stirring fourth quarter drive, which was speared by burly, red-headed Terry Conner. Conner, ex- ceptionally shifty for a big man, was all over the floor. He penetrated the Pioneer defense several times for layuins to net six points in that last ditch drive for victory.n -e2- - ' ge - .. -e - .H . a JL . H . . 1 .. .
