I r O .. . 4 'H We ' 1. of V - T312 Q-Q' 3-N l' r Ear' Q.,- 4., : 1 , N - nf yy -af . .X . -i x i. 1 I ' l 1- 1 .H , 531 - ld F5 'fx 6 f - , V, 3 wg' . 1 I JUNIORS The juniors started out with a large and enthusiastic class this year Mr Dawson and Miss Shoemaker were class advisors At the Thanksgiving Day game the Juniors sold hotdogs and coffee to raise funds for their prom The juniors were very active in the all school plays this year Betty Greenaway, Donna Lucas, Martha Edmondson, Faye Hamilton, Beverly Schaller, and Priscilla Loring took part in the productions lie welcomed seven new comers into our class this year They ares Paula Hanley, Elvin McClellan, B111 Fisher, Vir g1n1a Stout, Alice Skierka, Bob Saling, and Wes Campbell Lonnie DeCamp and Donna Lucas were elected by the class as Junior Marshals for Baccalaureate and Commencement JUNIOR PROM The juniors' largest progect and most engoyable activ ity of the year was the Junior Prom The theme was nChinese Temple Garden On the walls of the garden were painted colorful scenes such as a dragon and a Chinese boy and girl, dressed in brightest array, beside a rickshaw The garden was in an elongated octaronal shape In one corner there was a small Chinese hut, a pagoda style Real dwarf trees were also to be found White pillars separated the orches tra from the dancers and in the back ground, hand made roses splashes of color Chinese lanterns, in numerous bright colors and inter esting designs, furnished a soft light which threw a mellow glow over the beautiful garden Comfortable lawn chairs were arranged around for those who wished to sit The throne was an idol w1th out stretched arms, the two higher arms held burning torches while the eyes vers of a vivid bright green The queen sat upon his folded or cross ed legs The intermission and program were highlighted with B111 Hayden, Junior class president, placing the attractive crown upon Veda Cheney's head, crowning her Queen Veda f of the 1948 Junior Prom The other royalty, the princesses, were Martha Edmondson, Faye Hamilton, Vera Spence, and Donna Lucas Betty Greenaway sang, 'Two Loves Have I, and nBut Beaut1ful.u Bud Moss, as master of ceremonies officiated in a charming and efficient manner All of the guests were profuse in their praise, saying it was onoof the loveliest of proms in recent years 36 I r . ll . in profusion decked the white lattice fence with bright . 1 .
