THE DEAN WILL TAKE CARE OF IT. THE DEAN NEEDS TO KNOW . . . THE DEAN HAS SCHEDULED A CONFER- ENCE FOR . . . All of the above apply to my unique role on the Town Campus for I am responsible for the day-to-day business of the school. Challenging? Doubtless. Complex? Certainly. Reward- ing? There is nothing like it. Unique? Yes, and then some, because I consider myself to be fortunate to be a teacher. As a teacher of English for two classes and serving as a basketball coach for the Country Campus, I'm still able to keep in touch with the various viewpoints of students both young and old. This dual role-administrator-teacher enables me to help guide young people to mature deci- sionsg to help young people mature into responsible adults . My goal in life, my goal for this school is to provide all students with the chance to enjoy a rewarding and fulfill- ing Life experience while attending Ojai Valley School. Dean Wallis E. Olson Dean of the Lower School E My dual position of being both a teacher and the Dean of the high school offers me a unique opportu- nity to be of service to O.V.S. Because my classes are relatively small and the total enrollment of the Country Campus is not large, I am privileged to know practically every student as a person, and an individual as well, instead of just another member of the student body. In fact, I cannot imagine teaching in a school where students are thought of as mem- bers or where classes are so large that the teacher never has the opportunity of really knowing his stu- dents.
