Changes Desired in School Curriculums 4-F 1, Q ' ff E 1 : 5 ' ls: if i Nlost seniors feel that the curriculum at OCHS prepares students for jobs or for fur- ther education, according to a survey of the senior class taken by the Oil Can staff. How- ever, many of the same students expressed a desire for changes in the curriculum. Sug- gestions ranged from specialized science classes, mini-courses in English and history, no gym classes, and more foreign languages to dropping all subjects and making school an elective. Three new courses have been added to the list of electives at OCHS. They are consumer economics, machine transcrip- tion, and computer science. Also, a variety of summer courses such as English book review, health, and world history are avail- able to students wishing to receive credit in these courses in order to lighten the heavy academic load of the year. 13
