SPECIAL SERVICES Last year the Oil Can editors felt that finding one's path in life was so important that they made it the theme of the yearbook. We also feel that this is the most important job of a high school student and would here like to give special thanks to the guidance directors of O.C.H.S. for helping us in this task. James D. Schwab, Assistant Principal ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL Mr. Schwab, our assistant principal, is a jack-of-all-trades. He is in charge of not only the attendance and the many records involved but also the disciplinary needs of Senior. He directs the stage crew and must be present for all evening uses of the auditorium. Out of school Mr. Schwab likes to spend his spare time hunting, reading, or working around his home. He is a native of Oil City and was graduated from Cranberry High School. He received his B.S. degree at Clarion and his Master's at the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Schwab works at his task of keeping attendance records. 19

The occupation file receives Mrs. Daubcnspcck's attention. Whether it be a reference book for English class or a book just for enjoyment, one can always find it in our library. Under the watchful supervision of Mrs. Daubenspeck and Mrs. Walz, the library is adequately supplied with the most up-to-date books, magazines, and newspapers. A great variety of recordings is also available to the students. Assisting the two head librarians are sophomore, junior, and senior girls chosen for work in their freshman year by their teachers. Special education students are given individual attention and training by Mr. Zerbe to prepare them for meeting the obstacles usually confronting people in daily life. Mrs. Walz files new book cards. 21
