The homemaking department is comprised of many units. llere, directed hy Mrs. Best, Mary Stuhhs, Rosalie Porath, and Patsy Osten learn the fundamentals of child care. Fanuli llllllltlllltllillllrl Our homemaking department helieyes that in todays society education for happy, effective, personal family and community living cannot he left to chance. Vocational and general home economics are offered. The curricuhnn includes the usual cooking and sewing instruction plus the following areas of learning: choice and care of home furnishings, home planning and general maintenance, safety in home and commun- ity, care of sick and aged, child care and guidance, personal appearance and groom- ing, consumer economics. A community is like a ship, everyone ought to he prepared to take the helm. Our homemaking de- partment is striving to prepare our girls to take their places in the communities of today. F.
