I Being human, we like to recall the land of once upon a time, and when we do, we find we can compare experiences in the realm of knowledge with events in childhood stories. Our castle is no longer a mythical struc- ture but a buff brick building located on a hill. The rulers of our kingdom are not ty- rannical kings or wicked queens but kindly administrators and faculty. In our search for knowledge, we must, like Iack's bean- stalk, grow and grow until we reach not for a golden egg but for our coveted diplomas. The athletes in our land must be nimble an quick and be able to do more than jump over a candle-stick. And, although each and every one of us is either a Cinderella or a Prince Charming, we no longer ride in pumpkin coaches but in the latest models manufactured in Detroit. In later years when this volume finds its place upon a shelf beside our childhood books, we shall' remember the time, long, long, ago, when we were travelers in the land of secondary education located some- where in the vast kingdom of knowledge.
