No more will the jovial mainstay of the local police force go out of his beat to exchange a cheery word with a student friend. Nomorewillthe South Side business men feel secure knowing Nick is no longer standing on the Citizen's Bank corner. For Nick is dead. Last Saturday pneumonia and pleurisy did what the combined efforts of girth, work and age had been unable to do. At six o'clock in the evening he joined the ranks of the winged patrolmen. We are sure that in a short time Nick will be- come accustomed to his new sur- roundings and develop into as fine an officer as ever graced the heav- enly highways. The Oil Can staff will miss him too. Each one has a memory of Nick's head craned around the Art Nouveau door, shouting, Do I get my picture in the 'Ash Can?' We're sorry, Nick, but we have no picture. However, one consolation lies in the knowledge that, Oil Can picture or no Oil Can picture, Dan Nichols, patrolman par excellence, will be re- membered until all who knew Nick join him in his last sleep. fdames Marshall taken from the Senior-Hi News page ten vm. xr - - - cTal3Qc of Contentla - - - Administration Seniors . N complete knowledge of any one thing IS valuable. And rare. Men and businesses xv-f a . Qui: today who have gained as complete a knowl- edge as possible about those things which affect their businesses and their cultural lives are the happiest -- and the most successful. Particularly is that true in business. That business which has a complete knowledge about its product, but which is always searching for improvements, will be the most valuable to the world. That knowledge, imparted to many potential buyers, will make that business the most successful. Mistakes in business are costly. The Firm or man who knows the most about anything makes the fewest mistakes ....
