Professor Hutson, Deportment Chaii Department of Religioo The purpose of the Religion Department is not solely to train people who anticipate religion as o vocation. Rather, it has as its most impor- tant function the means for each student to develop a philosophy which makes life more meaningful, and to prepare the individual with the basic methods in the criticism of Biblical literature.
