Thanks to the Buckeye defense. OSU beat Indiana, 4?-7. on the road. Nick Buonamiei intercepted a Hoosier pass and carried it thirty yards before passing it to Flayr Griffin. who went all the way e 55 more yards - for the touchdown. With the Bucks ahead 12-7. end Bob Brudzihski forced an Indiana fumble and Tom Coustneau jumped on the ball on the 49-yard line Ten plays later. Pete Johnson had scored six more Buckeye points. The tinat touchdown came with a 62-yard run by Coffeyvtlle transfer Ron Springs. Back home in Ohio Stadium 6. week later. the Bucks met Illinois. Jim Pacenta had his best day yet, completing ? of 10 passes for 101 yards. The defense was strJI hot.
