Taylor, Ream, McCallum Wood, Drake, Vines, Baker, Stockdale Romantic, collegiate, ultra-smooth — these terms partially describe the out- standing excellence of the Senior Prom of 1939. Held during the most com- pletely romantic period of the year — Spring Quarter — the Prom was a perfect climax for one of the most outstanding social seasons in Ohio State history. Richard Baker, president of Sphinx, and Mary Jane Vines, president of Mortar Board, were co-chairmen of the affair. Their work in coordinating the activities of the seven committees resulted in a Prom that will long be remembered for its ex- cellent entertainment and enjoyment. Being escorted by Richard Baker, president of the Senior Class, gave Martha Brown the title of Prom Queen. She was presented with a beautiful bouguet of flowers by the Prom committees. The thorough enjoyment which the capacity crowd evidenced was ample proof of the complete success of the Prom. [22] [U] r
