Athletics! What a glorious chance it offers all who revel in keen competition! True, those who are here only for erudition sometimes think it nonsense, and are scoffers, but they don ' t know the satisfaction found in sport, no matter what the goal may be — a personal or team supremacy — in both, good sportsmanship and zest abound. Football — wits and body strength allied — Basketball — supreme endurance tried — Track — brought down to us from ancient Greece — when Mercury was matched with Hercules — these — and all games, are schools of preparation — schools where one is taught coordination.
