Logan Elm ADMINISTRATION M UNUIiR this famous tree Logan, chief of the Mingoes, made one of the most beautiful speeches ever uttered. He was not present when the conference was being held between the governor of Virginia and the tribes and a white man was sent to bring in Chief Logan. Logan was found seated on a log under the elm. The tears rolled down his cheeks as his thoughts went back to the time when he had been the white mans friend ' and it was then that Chief Logan delivered his historically famous speech. ■
