Active members are chosen from the faculty, graduate students and undergraduate students in accordance with the constitution. The follow- ing people met the personal and academic qualifications for membership and were initiated on May 1, 1968. Graduate Veterinarians: Hugh Black, Peter Lamont, L. D. Dhingra, Ronald Wright, Ted Senta, Michael Hock- man, Harold Farris, A. Ian Swann, A. K. Bhargava. Class of 1968: Ames Allen, Thomas Hickey, Lewis McClaren, Michael Miller, George Nyland, Judith Sauer- brei Sanders, Larry Sautter, Robert Slobody, Robert Smatt, Rufus, Sparks, Lester Starcher, David Stroshine, Robert Stuhlman, Walter Threfall and Victoria Lea Voith. Class of 1969: Robert Allen, Herbert Betts, Neal Caldwell, George Cloyd, John Harroif, Richard Hersman, James Walsh, and John Wilson. Dr. Paige K. Honorary membership is based on distin- guished service to the advancement of science relating to the animal industry. On May 1, 1968, Dr. Paige K. Besch was initiated as an honorary member. Dr. Besch is an Assoc. Prof. of Ob. and Gyn. at OSU. This outstanding researcher has given freely of his time and talents to aid graduate students and faculty in our college. The objective of Phi Zeta is to recognize and promote scholarship and research in matters per- taining to the welfare and diseases of animals. In keeping with these objectives, Phi Zeta sponsored several lectures this past year on many diversified subjects.
