Homecoming Entertainment McCrary, a lively rock group; and Second City, an amusing improvisational group; plus candlelit tables, replaced the usual salad bars and soft drink dispensers to give McIntosh Center’s cafeteria a nightclub appearance. McCrary, a young black group of three brothers and two sisters, played an upbeat sound, blending “a little bit of soul” with a collective faith in the spiritual power of music. Second City presented a series of very funny skits which left the audience demanding more when they left the stage. To the delight of everyone, they came back on stage and did a few more improvisations. 26

Building to an Evening of Fun Invading Ada, Ohio, and the peaceful Ohio Northern campus Saturday morning October 12, 1973, was a huge, fifteen-foot robot. Rather than leaving behind a path of destruction, the giant creature captured the grand sweepstakes homecoming decorations award for the brothers of the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity. Their immense creation enabled the Del¬ tas to maintain their winning ways for the third consecutive year. Sigma Phi Epsilon swept into first place with a polar-bear- manned rocketship, while the Phi Mu Deltas captured second prize with their satellite, spaceman and rocketship. Zeta Tau Alpha sorority placed third with Kappa Psi frater¬ nity moving in fourth place in the float competition. No sooner had the judging ended when the afternoon deluge, so typical of Ada, commenced putting a definite damper on the day ' s activities. Despite the inclement weather, the football stands rapidly filled with ONU fans wishfully anticipating a victory. Hopeful dreams, however, were termi¬ nated with a 34 to 0 loss to Hillsdale. 28
