Svuphumnres E THE Sophomores, of 1928 are about to be presented with the titles of Junlois After a long struggle thls yeai with fierce and tiresome studies we deserve these titles I think, and may take them with a certain amount of right think, and may take them with a certain amount of right- ful pride. During the past year we have lost several of the older members of the class. But this deficit has been filled with the addition of many new ones. We hope to see all these members again next year, when we shall be Juniors. All of the instructors have endeavored to give us a complete and beneficial education and we appreciate their cooperation immensely We, no doubt, seemed terribly thick headed but the maJority of us have succeeded ln learning our subJects so that we shall not forget them over night Most of our classes have been very entertaining and we are thankful for the efforts put into these. Our English instructor, Mr. Shank, who, in our estima- tion is the best instructor in the school and whose classes are the most interesting, is leaving us this year. We regret this vsry much, because we looked forward to having him next year. However, we, the Sophomores, extend to him every wish possible for an unusually successful career. l I7 1 S -Q - -Q f Q .1 9 . 5 Q ! ,. 2 1: S 5: I 5 -3 . We all lo-ok forward with renewed anticipation to vacation and its camps, ol 'swimnin' holes and all the joy an freedom with which it abounds. This happy thought is marred by only two regrets: first, that we have to leave our school-chums, who have been true friends, bantering us yet quick to help us in case of emergency, second, that we cannot argue like Appel be a shlek like Marshall, spout geometry like btratman ask Physic questions like Brady pitch hay like Egg-erdmg be a bullthrower' like Ten hiendfeld this only rival Pricej, groan like Nleporte, play ball like btackhove make speeches like Blcker fwhen he speaks no-one interuppte him-they 're all asleepl, play the latest songs on fthe lathe like Anderson, laugh like Gansy, comb our hair like Schmitt, ? like Helen Schell, ? like Clarabelle Craig, ? like Betty Horton, and, last but not least, be good sports like all of them. Not all ot the students mentione above will be back next year, ti those we wish success in all which they under- take, and heartily hope that they will prove strong swimmers on the river of lifeg those who return we hope will come back full of pep and ready to work. .-mwgwg.-25.-gg.-rg.-za.-.1l-.qi-.-in-fnfrm-ini-rm-rm-lm-in..-,A xg -Iiflvim J A Al..,.f...--e.,.-,-e.------.1..-,.--,.,X y QQEau-Q45 61361wzgl wf.w1.w21m vf.m4.xq4' C H' QA yi.,v1.lv,.y4.m.imv25vzsifmiiialv .i.iuKm,fg L: 4 1 .'.- ' - A AVA-- l-i Q ' I -14HH---l---- - - - -3 -np' K U 5 u 5 5 I 5 5, E E iv s - l ' -, . 2 S , I . .Y . - . . .
