In 1900 President Shearer asked Mr. Mac to come to Cincinnati to take charge of the Depart- ment of Mathematics. At that time only night classes were held. Mr. Mac has taught both day and night classes for the last twenty- three years, having; had at times seven or eight assistant instructors under him. He has traveled in every state in the Union, in Alaska, Canada, Mexico, and Cuba.
