Class History We began our high school days in September of '55 with 36 members and Miss Schumm as our sponsor. The officers were Carrol Lawson, President, Barbara Bickle, Vice-President, Carolyn Walters and Connie Chaney, Co-Secretariesg and Sue Akerman, Treasurer. During our freshman year Carolyn Walters moved to Van Wert. At the beginning of our sophomore year, we were down to 32. Marvin Kline, Bob Stutz, Gene Brown, and Don Chaney saw fit to try to get jobs. Phyllis Byer moved to Willshire. The new members in our class were Rex Moonshower and Ron Coombs. During this year Carolyn Montgomery moved to Celina. The officers this year were Carrol Lawson, President, Ronnie Agler, Vice-President, Evelyn Shindeldecker, Sec- retaryg Sue Akerman, Treasurerg Rita Haver,Reporter. Our sponsor was Mr. Holmes. This year we picked Today decides Tomorrow as our mottog the pink carnation as our flowerg and navy and white as our colors. The big event was ordering our class rings. We started our junior year with 26 members, Carrol Lawson was married, as was Jack Ream, Kenny Thompson, Leroy Ernie, Bill Carr, and Bob Kohn found jobs inthe business world. We gained one member when Barbara Ellis moved here from Van Wert, but during the year we lost Dennis White who moved to Indiana. The highlights of our junior year were getting our class ringsg the class play, A Feudin' Over Yonder, and preparing the prom with Anchors Aweigh as its theme. Our officers were Ronnie Agler, President, Rita Haver, Vice-Presidentg Leila Wortman, Secretary, Phyllis Clouse, Treasurer, and David Germann, Reporter. Our sponsors were Mrs. Phyllis M. Brown and Mr. Richard Holmes. Before our senior year Barbara Ellis moved to Van Del, and Roger Heppeard left our ranks. As we began our senior and final year of high school, we are guided by Connie Chaney, Presidentg Bart Sidle, Vice-President, Barbara Bickle, Secretary, Phyllis Clouse, Treasurerg and Paul Sutton, Reporter. Our sponsor is Mr. David Leiendecker. We are proud of our classmates who have received the following honors: Connie Chaney, peony queen candidateg Janet Ellinger, homecoming queen, Phyllis Clouse, homecoming attendantg Barbara Bickle, Valentine queen candidate. On the academic side Alice Mathew scored in the top ten percent on the county scholarship test. The highlights of this year have been our selling magazines and annuals, our pre- sentation of the class play, Bolts and Nutsg turkey suppersg our commencement, and stellar attraction, our senior trip to New York and Washington.
