C ass Prop ecy It is May 30, 1999, and I have just returned from the annual alumni meeting. It has been exactly forty years since I have seen any of my oldclassmates. All evening I spent talking to my former classmates to catch up on the latest news. The first person I had the pleasure of talking to was Joyce Rice, the world's most famous comedian. Joyce was getting ready to put on an act for the program when I was talking to her. Next I happened to meet Bart Sidle. He told me he was a teacher in his own school for mechanics in Dulltown. He 'also said he had a chain of service stations across the country and Eli Pina was the chief of the car washers. I asked Bart where Alice Mathew, President of the Nursing Staff at Parkview Hospital, was to be found, he said Alice was in the School infirmary trying to revive Evelyn Shindeldecker from a fainting spell. It seems Evelyn is still afraid of mice. After Wandering around for a few minutes, I came upon a group of women dis- cussing married life, among them were the former Connie Chaney, Barbara Bickle, Sue Akerman, and Rita Haver. Connie told me she is still a secretary, but Rita,Sue, and Barbara have a full time job baby-sitting with their grandchildren. As I was walking through the crowd I heard someone say hold still. I thought I recognized the voice and sure enough it was Janet Ellinger, one of the world's greatest artists. I looked around to see to whom she was talking and there on a platform was Phyl- lis Clouse, who is now a model for the Rex Moonshower Modeling Studio. As I was talking to Leila Wortman, editor of the Ohio City Screwdriver, I found that there were some of my former classmates in the news. She told me that Bill Kline had just won the five-hundred mile race at Indianapolis. Dave Germann had just been appointed Secretary of Agriculture and Larry Shaw had just designed and built the first complete atomic airport. I also learned that Jerry Hoffman's basketball team, the All- American Warriors, had just won an international trophy for their skill in playing basket- ball. One of the former members of the team was Ronnie Agler. Also in the news is Paul Sutton, it seems Paul is working on some secret invention and will not tell of its contents. I was just having my second glass of punch when Ron Coombs and Scott Ellinger came over to talk to me. They told me they were partners in a remodeling shop, the remodeling of cars, that is. I was just getting ready to leave when I ran into Mary Thompson, who was just returning from Alaska where she went to get a news report for the Ohio City Screw- driver. This evening was exhausting but I am glad that I went because now I know all about my former classmates. I will probably never see them again unless they come to Kline's Travel Agency to plan a trip. Maybe it is nice that I won't see them again, if I don't I won't have this laryngitis from so much talking. t ,,,,,,,,,,,, . .s,m.s.. ,me-4.11,wa,.,sw4n-nqnwv.qn.msumwm1-:-.-:,--:---mar' A -'N 'L' '
