TED BAYLEY Oglethorpe Cup The Oglethorpe Cup is a merit award given by the faculty to the man who has most realized the ideals of an Oglethorpe education. PATRICIA BAKER The Sally Hull Weltner Award for Scholarship The Sally Hull Weltner Award for Scholarship presented by the Oglethorpe University Woman ' s Club, is given each year to the Senior girl who has been at Oglethorpe for two years and has achieved the highest average of any girl in her graduating class. 1 ■■1 Ik 5? 1 ALBERT SHEPPARD The Oglethorpe University Trustees Award for Scholarship The Oglethorpe University Trustees present annuall an award for scholar- ship to the Senior man who has at- tended the University for two years and who has attained the highest average of any man in his class. Wl SHIRLEY BENEFIEL Mac Connell A ward Presented by the Sophomore Class, the Mac Connell Award is given to that Senior who the class feels has partici- pated cooperatively in many phases of campus life, and has not been fully recognized for it. . r ■•sVt JAMES CLOWER David Hess A ward The qualifications for the David Hess Award are the winning of a letter in an inter-collegiate sport in the year that the award is given, and the ability to face failure as well as success. He must be a gracious winner as well as a gracious loser. He must have furthered the athletic ideals of Oglethorpe through participation and assistance in the suc- cess of the over-all athletic program. ROBERT MARTIN Boar ' s Head A ward The Boar ' s Head Honorary Fraternity presents an annual award to that fresh- man boy whom they feel deserves rec- ognition for his achievements and participation in his studies and extra- curricular activities.
