New and old acquaintances enjoy dancing The Get-Acquaintcd Party At the Get-Acquainted Party, the first event of the year, Freshmen and new students were introduced to the social life of Oglethorpe University. Music was provided by Charlie Smith and his boys. The dance was co-sponsored by the Social Committee and the Student Council. The chow line Returning students at the Barbeque The Barbeque Everyone enjoys the meal George serves barbecue to Eddie and Lee The Barbeque is traditional at Oglethorpe Univer- sity. Each year the students and their parents, along with the faculty, are invited to attend. The function of the Barbeque is to familiarize the students and their families with the Oglethorpe campus, the students, and the faculty. Mrs. Coulborn is indroduced to Oglethorpe life
