Lesperance, again the team workhorse, ac- counted for O.F.A,'s only' TD, A muddy, rainy' day' with near-freezing temperatures was the setting for the Saranac game in which the Devils were beaten, 26-12. Ogdensburg was held at bay' until late in the fourth quarter, when Al XY'oodw'ard sped into the end zone for a six-pointer. and Al Smith followed minutes later. Finishing up strong, the Blue and XY hite battered Malones Huskies, 21-12, Spooner led the attatk. garnering his fourth and fifth TD's of the season on 50- and 55-yard runs. Steve Munn tossed for one TD and three extra points to end Don Kelso. Along with head coach Bill Plimpton. line coach Stratford and backfield coach Powers did an excellent job this year and hope for a winning team next year.

gr LJ Basketball Ogdensburg Free Academy, in the long process of rebuilding, found themselves nearly at the bottom of the ladder in Northern New York Basketball this year. Being hurt by the loss of top scorer and rebounder, Don Kelso, at january and the lack of any real ball men on the team, O.F.A. unsuccessfully finished the season with 6-9 won-loss record. Although not regarded as a big threat, O.F.A. did pull off two upsets, one over Potsdam by the unusually high score of 66-47. The second came over a highly confi- dent Canton aggregate 49-48 in a thriller. Other Blue Devil victories came over Nor- wood and Saranac Lake, whom we defeated twice each. The team was composed of seniors Chuch, I.aVigne, Don Kelso, Carl Jesmer, Dick Fortin, and juniors Chico Spooner, George Silver, jim Powers, Al Wfoodward, Russ Berry and Dave Wilson. Also playing first string was senior Ron Premo, a transfer this year from St. Mary's. Although we experienced a poor season this year, we are confident that next year's team, with six returnees and a fine squad of j.V. graduates, will be of championship caliber. 4,5 .Q l 'Q 9 l W
