Sovie. J. Thornton. Managers R, Hedge and -I. Simmons. each The Blue Devil Nine under Coach Frank Ruggeri ended their successful season with a six-won four-lost record. The Sons of Satan started off on the right foot by downing Saranac Lake 9-6 but were halted in the next two games by a powerful Norwood-Norfolk team 7-1 and Malone 8-5. The Devils went on to edge Canton 3-2 only to be defeated by local St. Mary's 7-3 and St. Lawrence Central 11-8. Now the Blue and Wfhite started to roll by taking four consecutive games. The Devils topped Massena 5-3, clipped Gouyerneur 2-1, turned the tide on Potsdam 3-2, and licked Tupper Lake in a high scoring slug-fist 15-12. After that deserving comeback, they went on to edge Massena 11-10 in the semi- finals at Canton and a chance to have a crack at the finals. At Snell Field in Potsdam the fighting Blue Devils lost a tough one to Norwood-Norfolk 4-3. In the return match Robare of the Norwood-Norfolk Nine blanked the Devils with only one hit in a 3-0 duel. STEVE PEAK, ex-New York Yankee baseball pitcher. was the honored speaker at the Spring Sports Banquet. He emphasized the xalue' in participating in com- petitixe high school athletics in the formation of greater character resulting in a well-balanced future.
