During September we held a very profitable magazine campaign, and in November we presented a one night success entitled Wildcat Willie in the Doghouse. These two projects provided us with funds for the sponsoring of a successful ,Iunior-Senior Banquet and Prom held May 9. Although we were very busy thinking about the prom, we took time out and had a class party on February ll, at the high school. Also on February 14, we gave an assembly program about Washington and l.,incoln's birthday and Valen- tine's Day. With the election of class officers and Stu- dent Council President just before school was I out, we are happily looking forward to the next miles down the highway of time. uniww Vice-President Standing: Patty Freeman, Presidentg ,Ronnie ,Ieffords Reporterg Delores Albers, Secretary Sponsored by: MOLT SERVICE SHOP - Ogden FREESE UNDERTAKER - Ogden TEPPER CHINA - Champaign OFFICERS Seated: Sarah Esworthy, Student Council Represen- tative, Pete Bensyl, Treasurerg Eugene Putnam,

As she turns to the pictures of the seniors, she remembers the scrap book of newspaper clippings and letters she has saved through the years. Looking at the first page in her scrap book she sees Michael Hay's picture. It is a newspaper article on his coming trip to the moon. He has just recently returned from a trip to San Francisco. Next is a letter from Norma F., who is now head of Champaign's largest business college. Mrs. Ma- haffey remembers that she registered before she graduated. Below the clipping is an article on Dick M. After retiring as game warden in one of our Western Wild- life Preserves he was elected president of the National Wildlife Commission. Since he is a confirmed bachelor, this takes most of his time. As she turns the page she hears the drone of an airplane overhead and remembers that Loretta C. is now head stewardess for TWA. Dale is one of their top pilots. On down the page is a snapshot. As she looks closer, she finds that it is a picture of Myron's family. He is now the owner of a thousand acre farm in Kansas. On the next page is a letter postmarked Paris, from Marlene, who is studying music there. Her French husband is making arrangements for their trip back to the United States. Below that is a napkin from a restaurant in uptown Champaign. She and her husband had dinner there just last week. Anne and her husband now own the Bright Spot Restaurant. On the other side of the page is a recent clipping of a magazine article on Dick L. He has recently been promoted to captain of the S. S. Ogden. Next is a letter postmarked South Carolina. This letter is from ,Ioe Helton. He took the advice of his coach and joined the Marines and is now a sergeant. Turning the page she finds a letter from Ruth Peters. She is now teaching school in Florida. After graduating from college, she and her husband decided to make Florida their permanent home. Next is a magazine article on Berniece Aden. She is now home advisor in the State Home Ec. Depart- ment. She manages her job and small sons very well, the article states. Mrs. Mahaffey carefully closes the bulging scrapbook and lays it fondly on the bookshelf. She smiles to herself as she remembers the antics of her senior class that year. -51 X Sponsored by: f C4.A A lg Kellerhal Insurance Agency - Champaign The Wishing Well - Champaign UU

The first activity was a bang-up initiation and party for the Freshmen which they will long remember. Activities followed one after another throughout the year, a square dance in the High School gymnasium in December, a stunt for the Christmas Party, and a play for an Assembly Program in March. The class was well represented in activities of the school, five boys on the baseball squad, four boys on the first ten in basketball, three cheerleaders, three Sophomores in band, three in Boys' Chorus, and seven in Girls' Chorus. One of the big activities for the girls during the year was sewing at the Junior-Senior Ban- quet and Prom. Iii f., 'Ww,.
