First row--Donald Jacobs, Robert Sattler, Herbert Osterbur, Forrest Danner, Glen Busboom. Second row-Mr. Waldrip, Erwin Osterbur, Dale Carter, Clarence Osterbur. Danny Free- man, Elvin Osterbur, Robert Rogers, manager. BASKETBALL The Bulldogs of Ogden High had an up and down season: at times the Bulldogs came out and flashed like the teams of old, but not as many times as they should. The Maroons were led by Captain Glen Busboom, Herbert Osterbur, and Forrest Danner, and under the able coaching of Mr. John Waldrip. The squad is made up of five seniors, three juniors, and two sophomores. The large number of underclassmen on the squad suggests a good outlook for the 1947-48 season. Members of the first ive and their positions are as follows: Erwin Osterbur, Robert Sattler, forwards: Herbert Osterbur, center: Glen Bus- boom and Forrest Danner, guards, with strong reserves, Dale Carter and Donald Jacobs. The Ogden squad upset St. Joseph, and played many better teams to a standstill. It seems that at almost every game. Ogden left their free throw eyes at home, and many games were lost just on that account. This coming year should be a good year for the Ogden Bulldogs: while losing only two off the first live, they will have retained all reserves and they are all improving fast. Let's come out and back the '47-'48 team of O. C. H. S. Let's go, Bulldogs! 34. The 1947 Maroon

June Bradley, Bertie Bradley, Betty Eyestone, Jean Fry. CHEERLEADERS Basketball season rolled around this year and found several girls and one boy interested in cheerleading. One by one. they dropped out of the picture. Before election day, the candidates met in Mr. Hays' office and decided how many cheerleaders there should be and how they should try out. They agreed to have four leaders. The day of election found Betty Eyestone, Bertie Brad- ley, June Bradley, Jean Fry and Eilene Robbins still in the running. It was a close race with Betty, Bertie, June and Jean coming in lirst. The girls de- cided to all be responsible for both games, rather than have first and second team cheerleaders. The girls brought maroon material for their dresses, and with the help of Miss Carter, made them. It was plenty of work, but a lot of fun. The finished products Were princess-styled, wool dresses with full skirts and were trimmed in White. Although there were times when the morale of both the team and the cheer- ing section was low, it was the responsibility of these girls to bring it back to its normal level and they did their best. Repetition of the yells proved Golf Fightl Winf and i'Yea. team, we're for you! to be their favorites. The 1947 llflaroon
