Maroon Mirror 'Staff At the beginning of the year. it was decided to have the entire school rep- resented on the staff of the school paper rather than just the juniors and seniors as previously done. A paper was passed among the students and those inter- ested in being on the staff signed their names. At the first meeting of the staff, the staff members were elected. Helen Bluhm was chosen as editor-in-chief and Danny Freeman as her assistant. The editor and her assistant made assignments to each member of the staff and the publishing of the Maroon Mirror began. Danny Freeman, Betty Eyestone, and Dorothy Stein. Senior Play The senior class play of l947, Hillbilly Courtship, was presented March 28. The scene of the play was somewhere in the Ozarks Where Widow Peppin and deaf old Pappy Stilsby are carrying on a mountain feud. To make matters worse, Pappy's son, Luke, and Ma Peppin's daughter, Emmy, were deeply in love. In simpler words, the old folks were feudin', while the young folks were spooninf While all this went on the Triffet sisters came home and brought their manager, Sol Silverstein, with them, in the quest of more hillbilly talent for his radio station. Ma Peppin immediately jumped to the conclusion that Mr. Silverstein was the man sent out by the Matrimonial Bureau to become her husband. How Mr. Silverstein found his way out of this embarrassing situation and how the problems of the others were solved finally brought the comedy to a hilarious conclusion.
