Girls' Chorus The Girls' Chorus, directed by Mr. Swengel, is for all girls who enjoy and want to learn music. Mary l.ou llabben accompanies the group. The chorus meets every Tuesday, while on Thursday the boys meet with the girls forming the Mixed Chorus. Both the Girls' Chorus and Mixed Chorus sang at the junior and senior plays. On December 20, IQ45, the combined chorus gave a Christmas eantata, The Story of Christmas. 1 ln .Xpril .26 the Chorus attended the annual spring festival at Champaign 'lunior lligh to which all high school musical organizations in the county are invited. The groups practiced together during the day and in the evening they sang for all the parents and friends. The Girls' Chorus sang ln a Monastery Garden and Dick- ory, Dickory Dock. The Special Girls' Chorus consisted of .Xnnetta Thompsen, Bertie Bradley, Phyllis Anderson, Betty Hall, joy Peters, Eilene Robbins, Norma .lean Thompson, and Billie Joyce Sattler. The 1946 Maroon 25

The play centered around Rita Powers, who had just received as an inher- itance from her uncle, .laekie Clark, contender for the niiddlexveight ehzunpionship, and his trainer, Slugger O'lJay. whom she harhored at the sorority house.
