PROPHECY ln the year of' 1960 we find two of our former classmates, XVanda Danner, now the United States Supervisor of llorne Economics, and her co-partner, Wlanda .lune Yiles, who is a graduate nurse, traveling with her in case of sickness as the result of VVanda's experiments. They are heading across the .Xtlantie in one of Robert 4 Jsterbur's luxurious ocean liners which is one of the two lnmdred he owns back in the United States. They arrive at a small port on the coast of Africa, and as they depart from the boat they observe a large commotion on the shore. .Ks they approach the crowd their ears meet with a familiar voice, that of a person heard back in 1946 in old Ogden lfligh. Betty llall is announcing the program of the eve- ning of her Desert Cavaliers. Betty now has a small band which entertains all passengers arriving from Dsterbur's liners. ller featured singer is none other than the l1lClOCll0l1S opera star, Billie Joyce Sattler. The next day XVanda june and XN'anda Danner accompany Betty and her band to a small town on the edge of the Sahara Desert where they find :Xnnetta 'l'hompsen running a grocery store. lietty asks .Xnnetta the best way to get to Russell Clreen's Desert Rall Room. ,-Xnnetta tells them that VValter Robbins runs a Camel Caravan at the edge of town and that he will direct them to the famous spot. So they now proceed to the stables, where they tind XYalter on his hands and knees washing a CZll1lCl'5 hoof, getting ready for the long journey to tireen's Ball Room. ln about an hour they are mounted and ready to depart. After three hours of hard traveling they see in the distance the gleaming lights of the terraced lawn of' the ball room. Upon seeing them they urge their camels forward at a greater speed. Arriving at the gates of the ballroom they meet Phyllis Anderson, who is hat check girl. She has been employed here for the past two years. As they are passing under the vine covered archway, they see two charming dancing girls, lflizabeth XVallace and Georgia lfiscus. They are greeted with fine hos- pitality and after sprucing up a bit, VValter suggests that they all go to Philip McMahon's hot dog stand for a short snack. There they End Norma .lean 'l'hompson tired and worn out from a hard day at teaching. Norma Jean is now a school teacher in a sinall desert village about the size of our little home town, Ugden. At this time Mr. llay steps into the door of the history room where he finds the Senior Class asleep, as usual, dreaming of the Far liast. 10 The 19.16 .llaroon
