EEE Pr The night of the concert I was very worriedi I just couldn't seem to hit that high C after the G. But my fears were unfounded, because the con- cert was a big success, and l solved my problem by not singing that particular note. lt was very thrilling to take part in the Christmas Cantata and the Spring Choral Concert.

My knees were knocking, but I told myself I wasn't fright- ened. After all, we had been practicing for weeks and . . . My fingers just refused to go to the right place on the troublesome keyboard in front of me. But I was determined, and I soon was able to type at the amazing speed of thirty words per minute. Then I turned to the short- hand book at my side and started to decipher the curls and lines there. After several bad starts, I had a letter written. I also found that the adding ma- chines did a much better job with figures than I did. In my retailing class, I learned how to keep a smil- ing expression on my face, even when I felt like screaming at the customer.
