THE DEHNS To meef fhe challenge fo aid in fhe nafional emergency numerous changes were made fo arficulafe school wifh fhe war program. The curriculum was enlarged fo give sfudenfs special fraining in science, and in mechanical and clerical work, especally designed fo meef fhe requiremenfs of fhe armed forces. Requesfs for scrap mefal, fin cans, presenfs and books for soldiers, Red Cross confribufions, sfamps and bonds have been mef cheerfully. Hundreds of sfudenfs have worked on a parf-'lime basis. BHRBHRH LHMHR HND DORCTHY Wifh war fime measures ever changing fhe carefree life and soaring gaiefy of fhe sfudenfs af Ogden High, we are inclined fo fhink of procedure and personalifies as being weakened. However, many im- porfanf phases of school life were broadened and sfrengfhened by fhe firm grip and ready adiusf- menf fo new condifions of fhe fruly democrafic sfudenf self governmenf . . . Sfudenfs musf be direcfed by sfrong idealisfic personalifies and hard ambifious work. We find Spike Larson always fhere using his persuasive personalify and governing power over fhe sfudenfs . . . Wifh Spike is a worker, fhorough and enfhusiasfic, punching af fhe bag always for increased spirif, new ideas, and sfudenf welfare. Wifh her smile, broad and charming, appears Dorofhy Glines . . . Equally as imporfanf are fhe records and books where Barbara Chrisfensen spends her fime. Accuracy is her assef as well as her charm and friendliness . . .
