Two years that they will loolc hack on with pleasure. There has been happiness, spirited rivalry, excitement, and just enough difficulty to malce them appreciate the friendly spirit of their classmates. Their interests have heen divided among studies, extra-curricular activities, and social events. In each one of these the senior class has had a good measure of success. The class officers have organized some very good times, and the class is grateful. Naturally, they are sorry to leave, hut they have no regrets. The years have been too enjoyable. Some memloers of the class will rememher the athletics, some will rememher their class work, and some will rememher companionshipsg hut whatever they remember, it will he a pleasant memory. These activities have hecome a part ol the students and are anticipated with great expectations. The weelcly assemblies gave us a variation ol education and entertainment. and presented a period ol relaxation from the regular curricular activities. We have spent many enjoyahle hours with Scientists. Economists, hlusicians, and Humorists. Student talent and pep rallies have always heen welcomed with enthusiasm. The opening oi school hrought about a program ol mass initiation for the juniors hy the seniors. However, the juniors held their own on many occasions in defense against the strong arm of the seniors. The First weelc ol school, with its water light, mud light, and dem- onstrations ol intelligence hy the juniors, which was climaxed hy a Get Acquaintedn dance, will he a weelc long to he remembered as a successful opening to a complete school year. The annual Tin Gloveu smolcer. which was instigated this year hy the class officers, won the recognition ol heing the largest smolcer ever presented hy the junior and senior classes. Although the juniors came out on top with a slight margin, they realized that they had well earned their credit helore the evening was over. Another new idea which received much acclaim was the 'Student Day. Principal Howard Keeter. Dean ol Boys lxlaurice Richards, and Dean ol Girls lxlildred Taggart. with the aid ol student teachers. presented a well-rounded program for the day. The high pitch ol enthusiasm maintained through- out the year reached its climax when hoth classes were drawn together to celebrate the capture ol the State Baslcethall Championship. An assembly in the morn- ing. where co-captains Hancey and Buehler received the trophy, and a holiday until evening, when the tournament winning haslcethall was given away at an victory dance. were leatures ol the celehration. The dance was formal in spirit and sport in dressf' for ttiis year tile students promenaded informally. At tile Senior Reception ttie graduating class was at its best. Study halls are considered by some pupils as a gab time, but considering the size ot the groups much value is accom- plished in the library. Friday is the worst day ot the weelc tor teachers and the best tor students. The monotony ot classes is brolcen by the student body assembly, where a great variety ot entertainment is provided, with Bob Bischoff in charge. At the end ot the day the halls are again titled with chatting boys and girls who disband with much reluctance, as in the morning, to go home. Still at night some students return to the building to participate in games and other school ac- tivities. Then, ot' course, there are days spent away from school by the students who represent us in various events. They usually discover that they can have a lot ot tun even with the teachers. ln tact. they sometimes discover they have more tun because ot the teachers. In The bay ' an Student day proved to he an interesting experiment because it was a novel idea, no one lcnew exactly what to expect, hut with its usual aptness the student body managed to have a good time and the teachers had many good laughs. The day proved several things about who is the master of the classroom--the students or the teachers. Some oi the students will thinlc oi one thing: others will think of dif- ferent things, but it is certainly pleasant remembering anyway. School life influences the student from the time he leaves his hed until he returns to it. The days are filled with companionship, study, and activities which are all written into the story of the day's fun.
