Injuries plagued the team almost all season. Center, Jim Butler began the jinx with a bad knee injury which kept him out for seven weeks. Upon his return the team played full strength for one game, after which Rice was out for four weeks. Then Rice, nursing his injured back for tournament play, injured his foot and was unable to play the second tournament game. Nevertheless, the Huskies played hard and are to be commended for their fine spirit, determination, and many thrilling ball games.
