Few of us realize that behind the scenes there is much work to be done in order to keep our school measuring up to the high standards we have already achieved. This is made possible through the untiring work of these men who give unselfishly of their time and efforts in order to make our school a better place for us. The following pronninent business men make up our Board of Trustees: A. R. Dyer, Choc McCollum, G. L. Johnson, Jerry Hardwick, S. H. Hurt, George Tripp and E. V. Headlee (not pictured). MURRY H. FLY--SUPERINTENDENT E tch institution or organization that has grown and developed has done so because of and in ratio to the amount and quality of the leadership it has had. This is particularly true of the Ector Coxinty Public Schools. More than two decades ago Murry H. Fly came to Ector County and Odessa. He had in his mind an objective. That objective was to build for the youth of the comnnunity. The blue prints for the building that was to be done called for growth in character and the development of skills that would make fine stalwart men and women. The plan was nurtured and the building was done. The instrximent used in the process was the public school. It has grown in proportion to need until today it stands with the fine young men and women who have gone from its classrooms, as a monxunent to him who has led in its building. u W. A. MILLER--PRINCIPAL Mr. W. A. Miller came to the Odessa High School as the principal in 1943. His unselfish loyalty and faithful service soon won hinn a treasured place in our hearts. Through conscientious exe- cution of his duties and his true spirit of fair play, he has instilled within all who know him a commanding respect and deep adnniration. Mr. Miller is endowed with a keen sense of humor and displays true sportsmanship. His. whole personality has been enriched by a background of varied activities which has created within hinn a sympathetic understanding of youth and its needs. Meda Johnston — Art B. S.
