Semor Hzstorzes On a cold December day ln the DON year of 1934, December 26th GALE to be exact, a bundle arrlved at the Hugh Gale home The bun dle was a small one and slnce It was the day after Chr1stmas everyone thought that xt was just a late Chrxstmas present You can 1mag1ne the surprlse of everyone when they opened the package and I Jumped out I spent the f1rst years of my llfe on the same farm where I was born Thls farm was located thlrteen mlles north of Elm Creek I re celved the fxrst SIX years of my educatlon ln the small country school near my home When I was ln the s1xth grade my parents bought the farm on wh1ch we now l1ve whlch 15 south of Odessa I fm lshed my grade school educatxon m the grade school a short dxstance from my home The fxrst year of my hlgh school career was spent In the Elm Creek H1gh School I boarded 1n town durlng my Freshman year and had a great deal of fun The next year I started dr1v1ng to Odessa to school and I have been attendmg school there ever slnce Now that It IS t1me to graduate I am glad that I hung on and re celved my dxploma Fourteen mmles northwest of MARCELENE Smlth Center, Kansas, the Ralph INNES Innes famxly was presented wlth a 5 lfZ pound baby glrl, only flve days after Chrlstmas ln the year 1934 What tough luck It IS to be born on December 30 so close to Chrlstmas' At the age of fxve I entered Sunny Slope School, only l 4 m1le south I seemed to be born w1th bad luck cause my f1rst teacher turned out to be a man Yet when he was called lnto ser uce, we were reluctant to have hlm go After a feu years we heard that he was kxlled 1n actlon Then when I was n1ne years old we moved to Nebraska, a mxle northeast of Odessa, and I entered the flfth grade I moved on through the grades wxth chxcken pox and mumps, and now I am ready to leave Odessa I-hgh Thr: belng the last year I w1ll always remember the good tlmes I have had here and w1l1 never regret recexvmg my educatxon from O H S the best school ln Nebraska' ll I . 1 J . - . . . . - . . - . . 0 . . . . . . V . . . o . . . . . . --- At f1ve o clock on the mornlng WILMET December 7, 1934, a 7 1 Z SKILES pound glrl was born to Mr and Mrs Floyd Sklles ln Klmball, Nebraska As I was the flrst ch1ld,1was supposed to be a boy My Dad wanted to name me B111 anyway, but after much thought and persuaslor by Mother, they flnally declded Wllmet would be next best to Wllllam So that was my glven name, but I ve always been called B1ll1e any way When I was three years old we moved from Klmball to a farm southeast of Elm Creek, and Sep tember of 1940 found scared llttle me startlng to school at Sunny H111 But after three years we mov ed to Kearney where I contlnued fourth and flfth grades at Kenwood School After changxng resl dence ln Kearney, 1 went to Wh1tt1er to f1n1sh my Thomas, where 1 attended only 4 months before we moved to Loveland, Colorado There I f1n1shed the slxth and seventh grades at Summlt Two years found me ln Eaton, Colorado where we stayed untll the beglnnlng of my Sophomore year I spent the con r-1us1on of my Sophomore year and part of my unlor wear 1n Sterllng, Colorado Then we moved south oi Odessa where I am graduatxng from hxgh school Exen though changlng schools has presented sorne d1ff1cult1es,I feel that the experlences I have had have broadened my lnterests and made me a hap p1er person On the mormng of September 9 HAROLD 1934, a son was born to Mr and TODD Mrs Frank Todd at Westerx 1lle, Nebraska At the age of flve I started to school at a country school northeast of Westervllle I attended th1s school for two years then went to the Westervllle Grade School After attendlng school there for four years,I mot ed to a farm southeast of Odessa After completmg the elghth grade at a country school near my home started at Kearney Hlgh I attended school there for two years, then transferred to Odessa where I am completlny my educatlon 12 I . nn . . Bonnie is President, Louise is Secretary and Roberta is Vice- President. We hold meetings whenever we think it is necessary. We are all receiving fairly good grades and hope to continue doing so, thanks to the help of the teachers who have to pound it into our thick heads.
