The club studied the recreation of and information of as many foreign countries as possible. To learn about var- ious countries during club meetings, members viewed films and listened to guest speakers who were born in or had visited other countries. Officers for the club were Gayland Stehle, presidentg Debbie Bankhead, vice-presi- dentg Barbara Woolfe, secretaryg Robert Cochran, program chairmang and Peggy Meek, inter-club council representative. club prepares women The Odessa College Home-Economics Club encouraged professionalism and further prepared the student to take her place as a responsible member of society. Program and welfare projects were based upon the plan of action in the Texas Home-Economics Association. Club activities includ- ed study of the consumer, aiding the handicapped and a Texas Home-Economics Association Meeting Convention in Dallas. Officers for the year were president - Cynthia Bars, first vice-president - Vickie Mann, second vice-president -- Karla Wadsworth, secretary - Shelia Hudnell, treasurer - Patsy Monroe, reporter and I.C.C. representative - Lou Carter, parliamentarian - Eltha Essary, historian - Susie Thigpen. The club met the first and third Tuesdays every month at 3:30 in Baskin Hall, Room 103. The Club was invit- ed to attend the Area Engineering Club meeting this fall held at the Ramada Inn in Midland, Texas. Three of the 8 mem- bers attended accompanied by sponsor Hugh Waldrum. The club took field trips to area business, machine shops, and the Petrochemical Complex. Serving the club as officers were Ray Fuller, Pres.g Steve Allmond, Vice-Pres.g and Walter Lacy, treasurer-secretary. I65
