alpha nu chi benefits uture nurses Alpha Nu Chi was the local Nursing Students Association which was affiliated with the Texas Nursing Students association and the Na- tional Nursing Students Association. It was designed to 'prepare the students for professional nursing. The club had two meetings each month, a business meeting and a program meeting. They raised money to send delegates to the state convention. At Christmas, the members also collected clothes for the Big Spring Mental Hospital. Heading the club are: Cathy Corley, presidentg Diana Whitehead, vice-presidentg Phyllis Tulk, secretaryg Ann Siay, parliamentariang Cynthia Tunney, treasurerg and ICC representative is Becky Stevens. uture teachers look toward opportunities The Texas Student Education Association, an affiliate of Texas State Teachers As- sociation and National Education Association acquainted pros- pective teachers and educators with various aspects of the teaching. The club met twice monthly. Informative films and slides were shown at meetings, and local educators were in- vited to speak to club members about the opportunities avail- able in the field of education. In observance of Na- tional Education Week, TSEA hosted a faculty tea, Tuesday, November 14th. They also had bake sales to raise funds to send delegates to the area convention held on October 3rd in El Paso and the state convention held on March 16th in Aus- tin. A Christmas project was a party or gift for a special education class. Officers for 1969-70 were: Janet Lee, presidentg Sandra Reno, vice presidentg ICC representative, Anita Pope, secretary, Charles Trerury, treasurer, and Donna Blanchard, reporter.
