avid qualities achieved through phi theta kappa Phi Theta Kappa de- veloped as a scholastic organization entirely for the junior college. The Etu Tau chapter of Phi Theta Kappa was the honorary scholastic organization at Odessa College. Members of Phi'The- ta Kappa helped to promote scholarship, service, and honor on campus and in the community. Qualifications f 0 r membership included a B average and a load of 15 semester hours for sophomores. Freshmen needed a 3.2 grade average and 15 semester hours. Prospective members were also voted on by a faculty committee and by present members of the chapter. A n n u al activities sponsored by the club included selling school directories and a tutoring service. They attended the Phi Theta Kappa Nation- al Convention in Florida and the State Convention in Kilgore, Texas. Officers serving the club were Jill Demler, Presidentg Bob Southard, Vice-Presi- dentg Debbie Potts, Secretaryg Cary Heath, Treasurerg and Vicki Shelton, ICC Representative. John and Gail Pool spon- sored the organization.
